EVS PROJECT 1 “Cultures Together for Quality and Visibility”
Topics of the EVS project:
European Cooperation, Youth Work, European Awareness
Tasks of volunteer: The volunteer will be responsible for;
- Quality and Visibility Measures (50% of the time);
- Enhance visibility of youth projects through development of corresponding
tools and methods
- Develop and edit publications and promoters (stickers, brochures, leaflets,
posters designing)
- Work with media (develop press releases and articles on SYC events,
work with local TV channels)
- Disseminate the results of the projects to local partners, youth, community
and international partners through egroups, web space, photo galleries,
exhibitions, audio-visual products
- Organize events for sharing the outcomes of SYC projects(e.g. press
conferences, meeting with young people, NGO representative, government)
- Develop, edit and update of SYC web site
- Update data bases of SYC contacts (partners, members, etc.)
- Assist in the development of educational materials of the trainings
- Help with logistics and program elements of SYC international youth projects
(exchanges, seminars, trainings)
- European cooperation (10% of the time);
- Development of ideas and proposals for new international projects of SYC
- Create new partnership opportunities for SYC with their sending organization
- Help in finding potential partners European awareness (10% of the time);
- Organize events in the host community, schools and in SYC to ensure i
ntercultural learning andsharing their language, cultural traditions and customs
- If interested, organize foreign language classes for members and
volunteers of SYC and inhabitants of the local community
- Youth Participation (10% of the time);
- Lead the volunteerism and leadership club at SYC (organize regular meeting
with members, conduct training and discussions, etc.)
-Help the local volunteers in initiating and organizing small community projects
- Administrative Tasks/ Other (10% of time);
- Represent SYC in different meetings and projects
- Participation in other projects of SYC, including of Youth in Action projects
-Assist SYC in preparing reports and applications of YiA projects
- Personal Projects (10% of time);
-The SYC recognizes the uniqueness, interests and creativity of each person,
as such volunteers will be given time, space and support for their own
initiatives according to their capacities.
Volunteer profile:
- interest or experience in nonprofit organizations/youth work
- some experience and/or competences in work with media can be helpful
- basic computer skills and some language skills (English, Russian, Armenian)
- open-minded and curious in sharing his/her culture
- flexible, adaptable, motivated, mature and responsible are necessary
for succeeding in a new culture and workplace
- willingness to learn and exchange skills, knowledge and experience
- interested to work in teams as well as individually
- attitude and willingness to take initiatives.
